thanks for having made an account anyway
No worries 😆 it was worth it to me to be able to contribute to Keyoxide.
Just to share my view on things: I prefer specific accounts for every little thing 🙂 my password manager keeps track of it all and I know for sure I'll keep my account on the small websites, even if, say, my Github accounts gets deleted or banned.
I can totally understand that philosophy, and I like it in fact, but at the same time… for a lot of things, it's just a hassle to open my password manager, create a new entry, deal with the accumulated cruft over time (do I keep accounts for ever, or delete them if I'm not using them anymore?) etc.
So either way, it would be nice to have both options. But not a huge deal either way for me personally, tbh. I just thought reducing friction might encourage others to participate.
Hmm, I see there is an OpenID Connect extension, which I think would allow IndieAuth by using indielogin.com as an OIDC provider. It would also allow logging in with a Codeberg account if Codeberg has Gitea's OIDC provider enabled; I'm not sure if they do. But sadly, it's a paid extension. Probably not worth it just for the forum.
Personally I'd say it's worth enabling Github login. Then people have the choice. But for me personally it's not a big deal. 🙂
